Pedro Gonçalves joined Bial in November 2025 as a non-executive member of its Board of Directors.

With over 20 years of experience in finance, investment, and public policy, Pedro Pereira Gonçalves is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of Hansa Investment Company, Senior Advisor at Movendo Capital BV, a non-executive Director at Advastore gmbh, Industrial Advisor at EQT Partners in Portugal, Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of NovaForum at the Nova School of Business and Economics, and Honorary Consul of Singapore in Portugal.

Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions, notably as CEO of Movendo Capital BV, a leading investor in the food, retail, and consumer goods sectors, and as Secretary of State for Innovation, Investment, and Competitiveness in Portugal’s 19th Constitutional Government (2013–2015). He was also Executive Board Member and CFO of AICEP – the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency. Pedro Pereira Gonçalves has held senior positions across the banking, insurance, and asset management sectors.

Pedro Pereira Gonçalves holds a degree in Economics from Portuguese Catholic University, an MSc in Economics from the University of Glasgow, and an MBA from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He also completed the ‘Driving Government Performance’ program at Harvard University.
