We have obtained your data from IQVIA or have received the data directly from you via our sales representatives.
We process your contact details, such as your name, address, if applicable e-mail address and telephone number, in order to be able to communicate with you via e-mail, telephone, post or in the context of personal discussions / on-site visits. The processing is carried out for the purpose of providing comprehensive information on the application and effect of our pharmaceutical products as well as for carrying out the business relationship and maintaining personal contact with you.
In the context of events, we may process further personal data of yours that is necessary for the organization and management of the event, such as your identity card or passport number.
The processing of the data required for the above-mentioned purposes are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (for the performance of a contract) or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (to safeguard our legitimate interests).
Furthermore, we may provide you with information about our products or upcoming events by email. Marketing emails will only be sent out if your explicit consent has been obtained in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
Within our company, your personal data will only be accessed by personnel who need access to fulfil their contractual and legal obligations. Under certain circumstances, your data may also be transferred to our parent company Bial Portela for the same purpose. Bial UK and Bial Portela have entered into a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement which covers this data transfer.
We may transfer your data to service providers who support us, e.g. in the areas of event management and communication with you (call center) and with whom GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreements have been concluded. These service providers were carefully selected by us, commissioned in writing and are bound by our instructions. Bial also ensures that, where necessary, appropriate safeguards according to Art. 46 para. 2 GDPR (e.g. the conclusion of EU-Standard Contract Clauses) have been provided when transferring your data to a third country.
In principle, your personal data will be stored for the duration of the active customer relationship. If legal retention periods apply, the data will be stored until the expiry of the respective retention periods. For invoices and accounting documents, for example, a retention period of 3 years applies.
You have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you. In certain cases, you can also demand that your personal data be rectified, deleted, restricted, or transmitted to another Controller without hindrance. BIAL respects and guarantees your rights in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations for the protection of privacy and personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, if you consider that the processing of personal data relating to you infringes data protection regulations. In particular, the complaint may be lodged with a supervisory authority in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
