In order to provide all fellows with the opportunity of discussing their projects, the Bial Foundation held seven Symposia entitled "Behind and Beyond the Brain".

Besides the fellows some North American and European speakers were invited, such as: Alcino Silva (Los Angeles), António Damásio (Iowa), Dean Radin (Nevada), Dietrich Lehmann (Zurich), Edwin May (Palo Alto), Fernando Gil (Sorbonne), Fernando Lopes da Silva (Amsterdam), Hoyt Edge (Florida), Ian Stevenson (Virginia), Jerome Kagan (Harvard), Peter Fenwick (London) Robert Morris (Edinburgh).

As a result of developed works the Bial Foundation published the Proceedings of the Symposia.
